In March 2008 Bewley's Hotels; a group of six contemporary hotels located across Dublin, Leeds and Manchester was purchased by Tom Moran and the Moran Family. The Moran Family also own and operate four, four star Moran Hotels across Dublin, London and Cork. Each of the hotels within the Moran and Bewley’s Hotels Group is strategically located, offers outstanding facilities; but most significantly is well-known for the exceptional hospitality bestowed upon guests.

After spending 15 years in London managing pubs Tom Moran returned to Ireland with his family in the early 1980’s to run a large music hall. However, it was in 1988 that Tom Moran hit the headlines and has since become famous as ‘the man who bought Ireland’s first million pound pub’. After the acquisition of the Red Cow Inn, Dublin, he built up a portfolio of successful pubs but was soon looking for his next challenge.

In 1996 he opened the group’s flag ship hotel and now head office for the group – the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Dublin. He subsequently acquired a branded Cork hotel in 1999 and redeveloped it - today the Silver Springs Moran Hotel is one of the largest conference venues in Southern Ireland. Later that year he made his first international acquisition – The Crown pub in Cricklewood, London. He refurbished the pub and then developed an adjacent hotel to it calling it the Crown Moran Hotel. The Chiswick Moran Hotel, London, opened in 2006 – formerly it was a derelict office building but after the ‘Moran touch’ it has been nominated for a prestigious design award.
